Saving money is so much fun!

Today I went to Smith's to take advantage (again) of their 'buy 10 items get $5 back' mega event. I already bought 20 items last week, but had a little money to buy a few more things. Here's what I got:
Price before store and coupon savings: $32.03
Price I paid: $10.64 (66% savings!)
Nice.

Great Coupon Website!

My sister Jill introduced me to a fantastic website for coupons! It tells you exactly what to do to get great deals. It has a list of the deals at the stores with what coupons you can use to save even more! It also has lists of coupons you can print from your computer and instructions for what to do to get started. Happy couponing! Here are links to the sites for Utah and Nevada, I couldn't find Northern California but there is one for Southern California and Idaho, just google Grocery Smarts [your state].

We've been up to...

some stuff. Lately we have just been trying to get into some sort of routine and get Hailey sleeping better at night. She seems to want to beat Ian up at bedtime for some reason. We started putting her to before him so that she would be asleep by the time he gets in there, it is a work in progress. She must have her mother's genes because it takes her a really long time to fall asleep. So Ian usually ends up on our bed until we go to bed and move him. The whole thing is kind of silly but we really want them to share a room so they can have a playroom! She also wakes up way too early! Oh well, who needs sleep anyway?
The twins turned 6 months old! I can't believe how time flies with babies. Brandon is starting to want to be on the floor a lot. He loves to lay on his stomach with his head (and arms and legs) up and he just squeals away. So cute! He had his first rice cereal the other day and is already a pro! That boy is going to be a big one! Jackson has learned that he likes his mommy a lot and whenever I walk by he whines until I go over and talk to him. He hasn't shown much interest in being on the floor until the other day at my sister Jill's house he was rolling all over the place! He doesn't do so well with the rice cereal because he thinks it is so funny that he laughs so much he can't keep the food in his mouth! That kid cracks me up! They are both such happy babies, I am so thankful to have them in our family.

Brandon's first experience with solid food.
Jackson is a happy baby!

Ian still plays the Wii a lot (way too much) and Hailey is always busy making messes. Recently she dumped water all over a few floors in the house, globbed hair gel onto her belly, tried to eat a DVD, escaped and ran 4 houses down the sidewalk before I finally caught her, painted herself with sidewalk chalk paint, and has removed her diaper on many various occasions and in many various places. Life is always exciting with this one!

Ian as some sort of clown...
Hailey is quite creative!

Kindergarten!!

Today was Ian's first day of Kindergarten! He was so excited to wear his new blue backpack and head off to class to meet his new teacher and new friends.
We all took him for his first day. We got there kind of early because I was so worried about being late with all the children. Hailey spent the time pushing the stroller around and then trying to run off into the parking lot. Boy that girl is a handful! Ian was just ready to go in the classroom.

When the kids were finally let into the Kindergarten playground Ian said "bye mom!" and started to walk away! I had to call him back to me to give him a hug goodbye. He sure didn't seem to mind being left there!
The kids lined up and got their name tags and were off to Kindergarten. What a big day! We found out later that one of Ian's friends in his primary class (and is also our bishop's son) is in his Kindergarten class, that is so wonderful!

After school Ian said his first day was "WONDERFUL!!" He got a cupcake which he called a muffin and a pet rock which he named Luigi (what else?). He said his "rock makes me so happy! Just like that beautiful rainbow I saw when I was outside playing in the rain!" What a funny boy. I think this school year is going to be great, he is such a good kid.

Thankful Friday

Woops! I was so busy showing Adam's mom how to use Facebook yesterday I forgot Thankful Thursday! Oh well, better late than never.

1. School is getting closer and closer - Ian has been so bored this summer, I am glad he is going to have something to do soon and he will make some new friends that hopefully live in the neighborhood so he will have someone to play with (besides his little sister).
2. Jackson sleeping in the carseat - Last night Jackson came down with a cold and was so stuffy he couldn't sleep. I finally realized he could sleep in his carseat and be able to breeth and he slept the rest of the night.
3. Amy had her baby! - I'm so happy for her to have her little boy, Lukas, and I'm glad they are all ok, she had to have an emergency c-section.
4. Grandma K coming to play and babysit - Adam's mom came over yesterday for the day. We had fun and Adam and I got to go out on a date!
5. The joys of being a mother - Although there are many hardships of being a mom, I really think there is no greater joy. I smile and laugh every day (at least a few times). Ian is hilarious and caring, Hailey is curious and silly, Brandon is wiggly! and so sweet, and little Jackson laughs at everything. I love their smiles, hugs, and sweet little spirits. I love that they want and need me more than anyone else, because I'm their mommy.

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful for my two beautiful sweet baby boys, what a true little piece of heaven they both are, I just can't get enough of them! And I'm so thankful Adam came home a little early from work today to help out with all the crying children, and he brought chocolate!
